Our partner is seeking an Inland Region based Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver, responsible for providing safe, reliable, respectful, and compassionate transportation to seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Drivers will be assisting individuals with disabilities, dialysis patients, rehabilitation patients, and assisted living residents. Clients may require assistance traveling to medical appointments, therapy sessions, dialysis treatments, rehabilitation facilities, family visits, shopping trips, and other essential destinations.
This position is part time, with hours scheduled based on transportation needs and client appointments. After 6 months, drivers will be eligible for performance evaluation and pay review. To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have a current CPR and First Aid certification. In addition, candidates will be required to complete a training learning module. Once the learning module has been successfully completed, the client company will reimburse you $150.00 for the cost of the training.
Pay begins at $19/hr.

Responsibilities
This position requires drivers to operate ambulatory and wheelchair-accessible vehicles while ensuring passengers are transported with dignity, comfort, and safety. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their vehicle is clean, safe, and ready for service, performing pre-service vehicle checks each day. Drivers should maintain professional conduct/appearance and maintain confidentiality at all times of client personal/medical situations.
Safe Transportation
Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles and must:
Safely transport passengers to and from scheduled destinations.
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Maintain defensive driving practices at all times.
Ensure passengers are secured safely with seat belts or wheelchair restraints.
Properly operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems.
Drive cautiously, especially when transporting elderly or medically fragile passengers.
Plan routes efficiently to ensure clients arrive at appointments on time or early.
Monitor road conditions and traffic to avoid delays.
Passenger Assistance
Drivers must provide courteous, hands-on assistance to passengers when needed.
Assisting ambulatory passengers in and out of vehicles.
Assisting wheelchair passengers using lifts or ramps.
Properly securing wheelchairs using approved tie-down systems.
Offering arm support or stability assistance when appropriate.
Escorting clients from: Their front door, Facility lobby, Medical office entrance
Drivers must never leave a passenger in an unsafe situation.
Reporting
Complete trip logs and mileage documentation.
Record pick-up and drop-off times accurately.
Obtain required signatures when applicable.
Report incidents or unusual events immediately.

Communication skills, patience, and compassionate / helpful demeanor are a must at all times. Passengers may be seniors or individuals with disabilities who may move slowly or require extra time and help, and every passenger should be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.
Prohibited Behavior
Using drugs or alcohol before or during work.
Using a mobile phone while driving (unless hands-free and necessary).
Smoking in company vehicles.
Transporting unauthorized passengers.
Accepting gifts or money in exchange for special treatment.
Engaging in rude or abusive behavior toward clients.
Drivers must never discuss a client’s medical condition or personal situation with others.
